Hoops (hoopshr.com), a leader in talent solutions for the emerging middle-market, is excited to announce the appointment of Mike Dixon as its new President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Dixon joins Hoops to spearhead its growth into a comprehensive partner for the full talent lifecycle, offering solutions from hiring to retention and beyond.
Dixon brings a wealth of expertise to Hoops, having most recently served as Senior Vice President for Talent Development at Epsilon Data Management, a $2.4B annual revenue tech firm specializing in identity, data science, and online advertising. At Epsilon, he worked with over 1,200 clients, including many Fortune 100 companies, and founded Gunnison Hotchkiss, LLC, to enhance leadership and team development. His prior roles include Vice President of HR in a private equity-backed healthcare company, senior director positions in healthcare systems, and strategy consulting at IBM (following its acquisition of PWC’s practice), where he served clients like BP, American Airlines, and Cisco Systems.
A decorated U.S. Army veteran, Dixon spent 12 years in leadership roles, serving in Iraq, Kosovo, and South Korea, and retiring as a Major. He was an Airborne Ranger, earned the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star, and served as an instructor at West Point. Dixon holds an MBA from NYU, an MA in Organizational Psychology and Leadership from Columbia, and a BA from The Ohio State University. He is certified in Hogan Personality and Team Assessments, the Thomas Kilman Inventory, and as an executive coach, and completed the Talent Management Institute at UNC Keenan Flagler School of Business.
“I’m honored to join Hoops as President and COO at such a pivotal moment in the company’s growth,” said Mike Dixon. “With over 25 years of experience in talent management, I’m committed to advancing our mission of building winning teams by delivering innovative, end-to-end solutions that address the toughest challenges businesses face today. I look forward to partnering with our clients to transform their workforce into a strategic advantage and drive lasting success.”
Under Dixon’s leadership, Hoops is expanding its offerings to address the top pain points of emerging middle-market leaders who rely on highly skilled talent, including hiring, employee retention, onboarding, training, leadership development, terminations, and employee relations. The company now provides fractional HR support, custom-built training content, 360 assessments, executive coaching, and its proprietary Talent Experience Platform (TXM), delivering expert advice, tools, and technology to help clients turn their workforce into a strategic advantage, driving productivity, revenue, and retention.
“Mike’s extensive experience and proven track record in talent management make him the perfect leader to guide Hoops into this new chapter,” said Bill Carroll, CEO of Hoops. “His vision aligns with our mission to build winning teams, and we’re confident his leadership will empower our clients to achieve their goals.”
